Melomi is a community wiki. You can read every public page without an account. This page explains what we store when you sign in and contribute.
What we collect
-
Your Discord account.
Signing in uses Discord with the
identifypermission. We store your Discord user ID, username and avatar URL. We never see your Discord password or email. -
Discord server roles, if you connect them.
Some fan servers can grant editing rights for their group. If you choose to connect, we
also ask for
guildsandguilds.members.readso we can check your roles in those servers. The access and refresh tokens are stored encrypted and are only used for that check. - Your edits. Every change you submit is kept with its summary, source link, a copy of the source text when one was fetched, the time, and whether it was approved or rejected.
- Moderation records. Reject reasons and notes, role changes and other moderator actions are stored. They are visible only to you (for your own edits) and to moderators.
- A session cookie. One signed cookie keeps you signed in. We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies.
What is public
Approved edits appear in page histories and on Recent changes, with your username, the reviewer and the time. You can hide your username from public history on My edits; public pages will then say "an editor" instead. Moderators always see who made a change. Pending and rejected edits are never public.
Photos and face recognition
Photos are stored with Wasabi, an S3 compatible storage provider. To help tag artists in photos we detect faces and compute face embeddings on our own servers. These are used only to suggest who appears in a photo on Melomi and are not shared with anyone.
Who we share data with
We do not sell data. It is processed by our hosting and storage providers to run the site, and by Discord when you sign in.
Deleting your data
Delete your account yourself at the bottom of My edits. Your Discord link, username, avatar and Discord server memberships are removed immediately, and edits waiting for review are withdrawn. Approved edits, uploaded photos and face tags stay in the wiki's history so it remains accurate, credited to "Deleted user". To get a copy of your data, contact [email protected].
